Born in 1967. Lives and works in Paris

Regis Rizzo's work is always on the move: either static objects are seized by the kinematics of a tender or frantic gaze that approaches, encloses and bypasses them;or we enter images where the represented subjects itself is moving. In both cases the painter's work will demonstrate the mobility of perception through the handling of his tools, to the point of revealing the painting/image in its moving dimension. Effects of disappearance, of colour weaving, of erasure and of transfer are used. The painting is simultaneously cinematic, photographic, video-like and as plastic as the eye. The material is scratched and scraped, but most importantly, it is spread fluidly in caressing and rhythmical motions.

La poursuite ( the chase) is the name given to a set of paintings begun at the beginning of 2007 during a workshop of the artist in Nagoya, Japan.
